Jerome Jauffret is a Partner in the Litigation Group of Safarian Choi & Bolstad LLP. He focuses his practice on Labor and Employment and has over two decades of experience in employment litigation and counseling and general business litigation across a vast cross-section of industries and business sectors.

Mr. Jauffret has represented clients in civil disputes involving wage and hour issues, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, reasonable accommodation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, interference with contract, defamation, fraud, infliction of emotional distress, non-competition and non-solicitation covenants, theft of trade secrets and unfair business practices. He is both a skilled negotiator and experienced litigation counsel, having handled multiple matters through mediation, settlement, arbitration, trial and appeal. He has appeared extensively before federal and state courts as well as administrative agencies. He joined Safarian Choi & Bolstad in 2013 to further bolster already successful efforts to grow and expand the firm’s litigation offering.

Mr. Jauffret also has provided employers with extensive counseling and guidance on employment issues, including the development and implementation of employee policies and procedures, the writing and updating of employee handbooks, the development and performance of employee training (including sexual harassment and wage and hour issues), the drafting of employment contracts and other employment-related documents, and the handling of employee-related actions such as hiring, discipline, transfers, demotions, terminations, and reductions in force. He also has advised clients on non-competition and non-solicitation covenants. He has developed a keen understanding of local, state and federal statutes and regulations, counseling clients on compliance and risk avoidance.

Mr. Jauffret has also represented clients in real estate related litigation, including commercial and residential lease disputes.

Prior to joining Safarian Choi & Bolstad, Mr. Jauffret practiced employment law and general business litigation with the venerable international law firm Mayer Brown LLP in their Los Angeles offices. While there, he represented large national and international companies, such as Indymac Bank, Wal-Mart, Sears, United Air Lines, Ford, Allstate and Marsh & McLennan, as well as mid-sized businesses and entrepreneurs.

Born in France and having spent his formative years in the United Kingdom, Mr. Jauffret attended the University of Dundee in Scotland, obtaining a degree in Economics and French, before beginning his early career in retail industry management. In the more than a decade he pursued this track, he worked for such respected institutions as Marks & Spencer, the Broadway and Standard Brands Paint Company, venturing stateside during that time to attend Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern for Circuit Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He joined Mayer Brown immediately after obtaining his Juris Doctor.

Mr. Jauffret is admitted to practice law in California, and before the United States District Court for the Northern, Eastern, Central, and Southern Districts of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
